Expanding wireless in education: scalable network options address today’s learning needs

K-12 education is now moving from solely school-owned PCs that are shared among students and used only during specific time blocks to mobile devices that are either loaned to individual students or supported under ”bring your own device” (BYOD) policies. This Center for Digital Education white paper discusses how organisations can plan flexible and scalable network upgrades to accommodate growth in user traffic and new applications while allowing for integrated management and strong security controls. It also offers tips on how to make this happen within the constraints of a district’s budget, funding sources and IT staff capabilities.
