This paper aims to provoke debate and discussion on how e-assessment can and should be used within education. It reports on a recent review of the literature that was conducted across schools, FE and HE sectors and examines three areas in more depth: the use of multiple forms of representation, development of new ways of assessing summative performance and ways of capturing ‘21st century skills and priorities.
