A recent landmark report emphasises the benefits of deeper learning from educational data mining. Evidence based practice can be developed through innovative and adaptive learning that uses continuous student generated data and personalised learning resources that can adapt to the learner. Assessment of student achievement using student data collected by digital technologies can lead to both formative and summative progress infiormation as well as the capacity to provide continuous learning feedback to learners.
