Learning to integrate ICT

In a recent and superb special edition of the journal of Australian Educational Computing (ACE), the question of teacher preparation for using ICT in the curriculum was addressed. In an article titled How Prepared are our Pre-service Teachers to Integrate Technology? A Pilot Study, the authors reported on a study of pre-service teacher development from the perspective of national curriculum and the National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST). The research reported a pilot study of 255 pre-service students’ ‘existing knowledge, perceptions, access to, and experiences using, technology to support their learning and teaching’ (p. 117).
