This research study provides new insight into how teachers use social networking sites, such as Twitter, as professional learning networks. The researchers surveyed and analyzed the public Twitter feeds of classroom teachers to determine the specific purposes for which teachers use Twitter. Study participants also completed surveys dealing with social networking.

Setting the baseline: The National Literacy Trust’s first annual survey into young people’s reading - 2010

18,141 young people aged 8 to 17 participated in this online survey in November/December 2010. While the survey focuses on young people’s attitudes towards reading, writing, communication skills as well as technology use, this report focuses exclusively on the reading aspect of the survey.
