Computer education, with a focus on computer science, has become a core subject in the Australian Curriculum and the focus of national innovation initiatives. Equal participation by girls, however, remains unlikely based on their engagement with computing in recent decades. In seeking to understand why this may be the case, a Delphi consensus process was conducted using a wide range of experts from industry and academia.

This paper presents an approach to enhance students’ engagement with their university, as well as assisting them in understanding their current academic state by using mobile technologies. This approach simplifies the presentation, awareness of university rules and regulation in regards to graduation requirements, in credit hour system, through the development of a friendly mobile environment called UniApp.

In this article, the authors have enumerated the possibilities and challenges of implementing m-learning in developing countries, specifically in Nigeria, and identified potential m-learning solutions to support learning of ICT in Nigeria.

This paper reconsiders the value of educational podcasting through a review of literature and a module case study. It argues that a pedagogical understanding is needed and challenges technology-centred or teacher-centred understandings of podcasting. It considers the diverse methods being used that enhance and redefine podcasting as a medium for student-centred active learning.

In these nations, STEM education counts. This Position paper, outlines the steps Australia can take today to make great teaching of science, technology and mathematics the norm in Australian schools, and teaching a profession of choice for its high achievers.
 

In 2012, 15-year-old students spent over two hours on line each day, on average across OECD countries. The most common online activities among 15-year-olds were browsing the Internet for fun and participating in social networks, with over 70% of students doing one of these every day or almost every day. Students who spent more than six hours per day on line outside of school were more likely to feel lonely at school, arrive late and perform at lower levels in mathematics. On average across OECD countries, 7% of students spend this much time online during a typical weekday.

Assessment through new technology has gained a firm foothold within the university system in the last decade. This paper summarizes the experiences during the introduction of digital examination over the past two years at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

“Research Project” is a new addition to the Greek educational system established in the 1st and 2nd year of high school, as a distinct course of the Curriculum. In this paper the authors articulate the use of Moodle in  organizing and implementing this course.
